Imer Imeri: Arrange hospitals, do not run contests to hire relatives

Reaction from Imer Imeri, chairman of the branch of the Alliance for Albanians in Struga

We are reacting today to a dangerous phenomenon, discriminatory and politically vindictive. It is about scheduling job vacancies at the Institute of Nephrology in Struga (Dialysis). Finally, in the competition for admission of doctors and nurses in this hospital, by party order, party activists and their relatives were hired, to take their place, volunteers who have been working without pay for years in the same hospital. Persons who already had a job in two other public health institutions in Struga were employed, or even in other hospitals. WHEREAS, at least two volunteers, who even in pandemic times have worked unpaid with infected patients, have been rejected and left again at the mercy of fate.

Who is close to the party, has the right to choose jobs and walk from one place to another. As if you are not a supporter of DUI or SDSM, you can be a distinguished professional, diligent worker, but you are still out of work.

This phenomenon, in Struga and not only, continues for years. From this policy of the ruling parties, tens and maybe hundreds, doctors and health workers have fled to European countries. All this national disaster is happening because of political representatives, local and central, who as well as other areas, they have degraded health and tore it down from its foundations.

Instead of running contests and hiring family members and activists, let them try and fix the hospital facilities, to repair the roof of the Dialysis that leaks whenever there is rain, to arrange the General Hospital facility which is a real horror for every patient.
