Shaqiri gave Merko a new chance and did not take away his credentials

The Minister of Education, Jeton Shaqiri does not intend to revoke the credentials of the mayor of Struga, Ramiz Merko, due to the illegal appointment of principals in several elementary schools in Struga and Struga, although he indirectly admits that there were violations of the law. He gives Merco another chance, with the announcement of five new announcements for directors.

"According to our information, which we have in more than five schools, there are new procedures for the selection of new directors. If in these procedures for the selection of new directors, An educational inspectorate determined after all the directions that the municipality had received at the time., the leadership, the municipality, that someone from inside the ministry can appoint him as director", Shaqiri said.

Anti-corruption even filed a criminal complaint against Merko, for the illegal placement of a director in the school in the village of Veleshta.

- This means that for you the decisions of the Anti-corruption Office of the Public Prosecutor have no weight?

"You don't have final decisions, you have recommendations. You know that the SCCC gives the recommendations to the Prosecutor's Office. You have no closed items", Shaqiri says.

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office says that the cases are in the pre-investigation procedure and that the Public Prosecutor's Office Struga is taking actions and providing evidence necessary to verify the allegations.. From the Alliance for Albanians, they demanded that Merco's powers to appoint directors be revoked, after Anticorruption, but also a former education inspector determined that in the schools in Veleshta, Podgorci, Labunishta, Radolishta and Brača Miladinovci elementary school in Struga were appointed principals who did not meet the conditions to be elected. For the arbitrariness to be even greater, Merco chose these same directors for the second time.
